Review: If, like me, you were on the fence about the idea of refilling toilet cleaner bottles from these big ol' jugs, have no fear. The clever people at Ecover have made it super easy by making sure: 1. The spout on the smaller bottle you will be refilling pops off without too much effort (though not so easy that you need to do worry about it disappearing around the U-bend); 2. The spout on these big refill jugs are designed to limit the flow and prevent the 'glug-glug-glug' effect that could make the pouring process a real handful (the picture shows the special spout). Of course, aside from these refills working out cheaper per litre than individual bottles, there's also a significant saving on plastics waste. However, there are occasions where these refills come with a sticker that says they couldn't get hold of recycled plastics to make these jugs (which I've seen ~late 2022). Whatever, it's still less landfill than buying individual bottles. I can't see myself going back to buying individual bottles after trying the refills. Based on my experiences with the loo cleaner, I've also switched to refills for my Ecover laundry detergent. Yes, these are bulky, but, if you can find space to hide them away (under the sink, or tucked behind the loo) I cannot think of any good reason *not* to switch to the refills.
